Generosity Social Experiment: Can This Pic Get A Thousand People To Donate?

Having watched quite a few Youtube videos lately with Youtubers doing all kinds of social experiments, such as ones to do with the homeless, testing generosity between rich and poor people, etc. I thought I’d try one of my own using this pic of an SOS with my paypal email. Three letters that clearly say need HELP now!

Could I possibly get a thousand people to donate, not a specific amount, but just 1000 people to send me money whatever amount they choose to give? No sob story, even though I may have one, and no detailed explanation other than to say I do good deeds that I feel I should get rewarded for so can dispel the myth that “no good deed goes unpunished” because lately I’ve been feeling punished and letdown. I guess there is a sob story aftérall!

Of course it may make people skeptical but then again, I’m not stating a purpose for the money so is transparent, nothing to hide. But if they insist they need to know where it’s going to, then I will for sure buy something useful for whatever amount they wish to give, such as replace the socks with the holes in it, pay an overdue bill to stop the calls, buy my cat a scratching post so she doesn’t scratch the chairs she’s been scratching behind my back (though I hear her!), give a homeless guy a hand up with a walmart gift card, and so on. I’m sure there will always be something necessary to spend the money on!

I will also take it further by approaching the Youtubers who do these social experiment videos see if any would be willing to give me any money. Like turning the tables on them by testing them with my own social experiment, using the SOS pic on my blog to convince them. If even one of them donates, then there’s hope that I’m on my way to succeeding in this social experiment!

I’m not going to put a time limit on it as it could take awhile maybe days, months or (hopefully not) years, depending how open and generous people are. I will place a counter so when I reach the number of 1000 donations, that’s when this generosity social experiment ends.

I will update when donations start rolling in!
